On May 16, 2018, at the 53rd Annual Award the Jake Owen Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Ashton Bono

In December of 2014 the Jake Owen Foundation established the Jake Owen Foundation Scholarship through Scholarship Foundation of IRC to benefit the students of Indian River County.  The first Jake Owen Foundation Scholarship was awarded in May 2015.  As an organization we are so fortunate that each year following the establishment of the Jake Owen Foundation Scholarship the Foundation has funded the scholarship.

On May 16, 2018, at the 53rd Annual Award the Jake Owen Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Ashton Bono, a Vero Beach High School graduating Class of 2018 senior who will attend the University of Central Florida in the fall with a major in Radio-Television Communications.

Scholarship Foundation of IRC has been awarding scholarships to student of Indian River County since 1965 and without the generosity and support of local residents, businesses, foundations, grants and bequests we would not be able to execute our mission of helping students realize their dream of attending college.  Including the awards this year, Scholarship Foundation of IRC has awarded over $11.8 million dollars to 2,920 students.  We are forever grateful to the Jake Owen Foundation for their continued support of “giving back” and helping students in Jake’s home town community.
